Equine medicine

Our mission is to help our customers develop their businesses using regenerative medicine and a bio-logic approach to improve tissue regeneration, stimulate healing processes, and manage inflammation-related pain.

From the first Equine PRF injections in 2017 till today, we have seen Equine PRF being used extensively and across orthopedic indications in joints and tendons.

Today, we are expanding our portfolio into Equine wound healing, introducing Ultrasonic-assisted wound debridement from Söring, which uses the cavitation effect to remove non-vital tissue and break the biofilm. This results in a clean wound bed, ready for the next step.

A step where PRF-assisted wound healing is a bio-logic next step – and we will soon launch a solution for this.

Brief introduction to our main focus areas

1

Sports Medicine

Orthopedic injuries are one of the top problems when managing sports horses. The most frequent equine sports-related issues are tendon or ligament injuries, synovitis, and joint arthritis or arthrosis. We introduced Platelet Rich Fibrin in Equine Sports medicine in 2017, and today, it is being used extensively in Scandinavia.

One advantage of Equine PRF is the easy and quick processing of the final product, making it broadly available to even smaller clinics. It is also safe since it´s autologous and without additives.

Crowd Statistics

We have the initiative to extract and process clinical data to support equine veterinary clinicians in sports medicine with expanding knowledge about the efficiency of regenerative medicine treatment protocols used in their daily work.

The initiative is based on the principle of crowdsourcing data for optimizing the use of regenerative medicine in the clinical setting. We have an A4 paper block with our data collection form setup printed. Also, we have an interactive PDF version.

Ultrasonic Technology from Söring

It is our pleasure to introduce the expertise and product portfolio of Söring to the Scandinavian Veterinary medicine market, enabling veterinarians to use ultrasonic technology to improve wound debridement and orthopedic surgery.

  • Ultrasonic-assisted wound debridement uses the cavitation effect to remove non-vital tissue and saves vital structures like vessels.
  • The ultrasonic-assisted bone instrument uses 25 kHz to resect bone structures gently and precisely.

Ultrasonic-assisted Wound Debridement

Ultrasonic-Assisted Wound Debridement (UAW) is a very effective and gentle method for cleansing chronic and acute wounds with a unique worldwide level of evidence in human medicine. Wound treatment can be carried out on an outpatient basis and with local anesthesia by a veterinarian or specialized veterinary nursing staff.

Ultrasonic-assisted wound debridement uses the cavitation effect to remove non-vital tissue and saves vital structures like vessels. The cavitation effectively removes the biofilm and creates a clean wound bed. A prolonged sonotrode developed for Equine use enables the operator to make safe debridement of deep wounds where visibility is limited, thus making a complete and adequate debridement.

Ultrasonic-assisted Bone Surgery

The ultrasonic bone instrument by Söring was explicitly developed for the resection of bone. The ultrasonic technology offers the significant advantage that different effects are displayed distinctly and at varying degrees on various tissue types. On the bone, this consists primarily of mechanical removal. Mostly no effect is visible on tissue containing collagen with a high elastin content (e.g., blood vessels, nerve fibers, dura mater), which is why surgery can be performed directly on extremely delicate structures.
